1 Transport Phenomena
The aim of this course is to foster basic thinking regarding macroscopic equilibrium thermodynamics and basic transfort kinetics.
The course deals with the basic principle of second law of thermodynamics, entropy production, rates of chemical reaction,
free energy and thermal to electric conversion phenomena.
The aim of this class is to help students acquire the knowledge needed to understand the basic cllasical thermodynamics, and
advanced non-equilibrium thermodynamics. This course also deals with basic chemical reaction dynamics and transportation
theory.
- Understand the fundamentals of thermodynamics to learn basic transfer kinetics
- Understand the basics of transfer kinetics
- Understand the basic matters including engineering applications such as chemical reaction rate

Evaluation method and criteria
The final grade will be calculated according to the following process: Reports(75%), term-end examination (25%). To pass,
students must earn at least 60 points out of 100. Here, the 60 points corresponds to the ability to solve 60% of textbook
exercises.
