Course content
Today, the modern society, is called information society. In the information society, our daily activities related to "information" are significantly increasing, while the roles, importance and economic value are increasing. As a result, social issues of information and communication are becoming a larger part of regional strategies and town planning.
Based on this recognition, students working on master's thesis will analyze the background from various viewpoints, set specific research subjects and undertake research, especially concerning the relationship between regional development / regional policy and "information".
Goals and objectives
  1. Understanding the relationship between regional development and regional policy and "information" from various perspectives.
  2. Understand regional development and regional planning in the information society.
  3. Presenting the result of the research.

Class schedule
Students working on master's research set the concrete research subject in areas related to the relationship between "regional development and/or regional policy" and "information", then work on research.

Specifically, see the flow below.
Analysis of social problems → setting of research topic → preparation of research plan → agenda setting of research method, experimental, modeling, survey and other → analysis of results → summarizing consideration and conclusion → writing the thesis and presenting
Evaluation method and criteria
Presentation at campus (within seminar etc), presentation at domestic and overseas academic conferences and/or special interest group meetings will be evaluated.
· Presentation in seminars (4 or more times in each term) will be scored 60%.
Additional score are evaluated as below.
· Oral / poster presentation at academic conferences and/or special interest group meetings
· Submission of a paper
Textbooks and reference materials
Text books and papers will be directed at classes.

Review the relevant subjects of each department the students graduated from.
