Course content
In this research activity, information and communication systems will be focused on to complete master course researches. For example, mobile computing, mobile network, communication quality, ubiquitous computing, artificial intelligence, biomedical informatics are major topics. Each student will learn how to find their research theme, how to extract the issues to be solved, how to survey the related works, how to propose the solutions to the issues, how to evaluate the proposed solutions, how to conclude the research and how to write the master thesis.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understand what the novelty on the research is and how effective the proposed solution is.
  2. To get the knowledge on the research and the computational skills to build the experimental environment for the evaluation.
  3. To complete the master thesis.
Language
Japanese(English accepted)
Class schedule
Each student will report the research progress every week in the regular meeting. Besides that, at least 4 papers will be submitted to conferences and be presented during the course.
Evaluation method and criteria
Presentation, discussion, research progress reports and conference paper submissions are the criteria of the grade.
Textbooks and reference materials
Major conference proceedings, journals and technical reports.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of information and communication technologies is required.

Applicable The instructor worked at the research laboratory of a company and had an experience to develop information and communication systems, making hardware such as electronic circuit production and making software such as system control software production. Based on this experience, the concept of performance and reliability which is important for information systems will be taught.
