Course description
The aim of this course is to help students acquire the knowledge about Japanese and world literature to learn the several tips to analyze the contemporary Japanese culture.
Not only significant works in literature but also various art works, films and music should be discussed and examined.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this course is to help students know the contemporary Japanese culture influenced by the long and broad world history and culture and get familiar with Japanese and world literature and diverse art works, films and music.
Goals and objectives
  1. Read some masterpieces of Japanese and world literature.
  2. Analyze the context between the novels and related films and musical works.
  3. Find the cultural bias in own reading and criticize the contemporary Japanese culture.
  4. Summarize the several works of literature and write logically own opinions on them.
