Career Plan

KATO Kyoko
Course description
In your life so far, the decisions that you made have been made within an already-established frameworks or contexts. After graduating college, your life or your decisions will no longer be with in the framework/context. Rather, you have to make a decision to create and design your own future.
In this regard, many of you must be worried about the future because the range of "deciding by yourself" in such a free world without restrictions increases.

For the most of you, in the life after college “working” will be one pillar of your life. What do you need to build this pillar? In this lecture for second-year undergraduate students, I would like to introduce the "weapons" that enable you to answer each of these questions. Although the term "weapon" sounds a bit radical/sensational, understanding and practicing the weapons introduced in this lecture will make your future life (including university life) meaningful, I believe.

In this lecture, I will not simply introduce you to "weapons". Ask each class to prepare its own research and thoughts about the questions that were presented in advance. The attitude of "thinking for yourself" applies even when interacting with the guests in this lecture. Instead of just giving a lecture, you will be able to expand your knowledge of “weapons” and their thoughts as you actively ask questions and discuss. The final task is to compile the thoughts and knowledge that you gain from the lectures, and will be asked to present and submit it as your own “good luck charm”. Through this process, the goal is to understand the essence of "career design" and enable each and every one of us to know and talk about "self" and "work" in a way that is "genuine".
Purpose of class
The purpose of this lecture is to encourage students to move forward in the "working" world with hope and confidence.
Goals and objectives
  1. To visualize and verbalize the "values" of "working" for me.
  2. To understand the current state of the world in which you are “working” and be able to act toward it.
  3. To enable to decide things yourself, and to do things that you can't decide for yourself.
  4. To be able to think on your own.
  5. To be able to describe what is in your head with attitudes and actions.
