Course description
In this course, working principle and analysis method of basic analog circuits which include op amp, oscillator, modulator, demodulator and power supply are studied. These circuits are based on the other courses ("Fundamentals of Electric Circuits" and "Basic Electronics"), and they are very important because they are used in the actual communication equipment. This course is also basics on the expert knowledge of communication engineering.
Purpose of class
-To learn about working principle and analysis method of basic analog circuits which include op amp, oscillator, modulator, demodulator and power supply.
-To master how to use these circuits.
Goals and objectives
  1. The students who succeeded in this course will be able to understand the working principle of op amp, and to design linear and non-linear operation circuits.
  2. They also will be able to understand various oscillators, and to design the appropriate oscillator according to the frequency.
  3. They also will be able to understand the working principle of analog modulators/demodulators, and to understand frequency spectrum of modulated signals.
  4. They also will be able to understand the working principle of power supply circuit.

Evaluation method and criteria
-Grade is judged by the submitted assignment (35%), by the final exam (65%).
-Passing standard is over 60% (i.e. 60 points).
-It is possible to acquire more than 60 points by solving and submitting each assignment surely and understand them.
Textbooks and reference materials
Lecture materials with blanks can be downloaded from scomb by the 2day before each class. Prepare by using this materials, and fill the blanks at the class. When you miss or could not understand sufficiently, full version of materials are delivered using scomb in the next day of the class. So it's desirable to review using these materials.
Prerequisites
It's desirable to take and understand the contents of the classes "Fundamentals of Electric Circuits" and "Basic Electronics" fully.
