Course description
Based on the basic network technology and traffic theory, TCP/IP basic technology, and wireless LAN basic technology acquired in "Information and Communication Network", information and communication security technology, and communication network technology that can be used in emergency situations such as disasters are explained . Through these studies, students will acquire network construction and security technologies that can be put into practice in society.
Purpose of class
To understand the information and communication security technology indispensable for the engineer, and the communication network technology which is utilized in an emergency.
Goals and objectives
  1. The students who succeeded in this course acquire basic knowledge on information and communication security, and will be able to understand and to explain cryptography theory and protocol.
  2. They also acquire the basic knowledge on wired and wireless LAN security technology, and will be able to practice security.
  3. They also acquire the basic knowledge on communication networks that can be used even in case of emergencies such as emergency, and will be able to understand and explain the necessity of network in emergency.

-Grade is judged by the midterm exam (40%), by the final exam (60%).
-Passing standard is over 60%.
Textbooks and reference materials
Lecture materials with blanks can be downloaded from scomb by the 2day before each class. When you miss or could not understand sufficiently, full version of materials are delivered using scomb in the next day of the class. So it's desirable to review using these materials.
Prerequisites
It's desirable to take and understand the contents of the classes "Communication network" fully.

Applicable From 1991 to 2007, I was engaged in the research and development of wireless communication networks that can be used in emergencies such as disasters at the Communications Research Laboratory of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, the ATR Adaptive Communications Research Laboratory, and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology. Based on these experiences, the basic technologies and concepts necessary for communication networks that can be used in times of emergencies such as disasters are lectured.
