Research Content

Architectural design and town planning in today's complex and diverse society require techniques to numerically and visually represent various information on changes in the natural and social environment, as well as knowledge, pathways and methodologies to discover and solve potential problems in regions and places.
Sawada Laboratory aims to improve architectural design skills to realise social needs through practical research on 'problem discovery and solution in the community' and 'emergence with collaboration', using BIM (Building Information Modelling) and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) and with a background in systems thinking and design thinking.
In Undergraduate Thesis Research 1, attending students simulate the discovery of problems, identification of issues and derivation of solutions for actual local areas, using the methods of research and analysis of local information acquired up to the third-grade.
