Course description
The subject of “Environmental System” is extensive and deeply related to human life and society. The course requires students to study their own research subject and write a thesis or complete design drawings under the direction of a supervising professor and associate supervisor.
Purpose of class
Students are expected to choose and set their own research subject regarding architecture, urbanism, environmental studies, social science studies. Students should develop the idea, knowledge, technique collected in 4 years of study in the colledge, write a thesis or complete design documents and make a presentation.
Goals and objectives
  1. Summarizes studies and educational experiences in the college, set out the appropriate research subject
  2. Execute logical thinking through assumption, research, experiment, and inspection on the selected subject
  3. Draw up an appropriate research summary on the subject and conclusion. Make a clear presentation to the audience including supervising professors
  4. Active and autonomous research attitude should be expected.
  5. Students are able to evaluate the themes and results of their own research not only from the perspective of their area of specialization, but also from global, cross-disciplinary, and interdisciplinary perspectives, using systems thinking to evaluate multiple aspects and explain the significance of their work.

Research on environmental policy from SDGs perspectives
Research Content
Environmental issues are linked with social and economic issues with diverse stakeholders. In order to solve the environmental problem, therefore, it is necessary to properly understand the mechanism in which the problem occurs and make adjustments to reach consensus among stakeholders in different positions. Based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the international goals for the year 2030, study on social systems and policies with a cross-sectoral approach is conducted.

Based on the experience of administration of environmental policies, research will be conducted based on the legislation process of environmental issues, relations of various stakeholders and related issues.
