Course content
In this lecture, based on the basic knowledge of building materials acquired in the undergraduate course, the following refurbishment techniques applied to repair and refurbishment work on buildings will be explained. In addition, environmental measures related to building materials will be explained based on the latest situation.
Purpose of class
Students will deepen their understanding of the following retrofitting techniques applied to building repair and renovation work.
Students will select one of the following topics related to building renovation that will be presented by the instructor during the lecture, compile an overview, and make a presentation.
 Retrofitting of reinforced concrete exterior walls
 Renovation of tiled exterior walls and cement-mortar coated exterior walls
 Repair of painted exterior walls
 Waterproofing of roofs
 Treatment technology for asbestos-containing building materials used in buildings
 Environmentally friendly technologies for building renovation work
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand the outline of deterioration diagnostic technology of existing buildings necessary for implementing repair and repair work of buildings.
  2. Understand the functions and performance required for the site of the building and understand the relationship with the material used for the site.
