Course content
Please note that the content of this lecture will focus on explanations based on Japanese patent law, which may differ from the laws of the foreign student's home country. The same lecture will be given in Japanese in the first and second semester of the next year, so if you wish to take the course in Japanese, it is recommended that you take that course.

“Management of Intellectual Property” examines the key strategic decisions that engineers and scientists face at each stage of research and development. The course aims to develop your ability to understand intangible property rights and effectively manage the fruit from your laboratory work. It focuses mainly on the patent right, but includes some examples of other intellectual property rights including copyright and trade secret. This lecture will be conducted using a combination of simultaneous online delivery via Zoom and on-demand video viewing.

To obtain knowledge to manage intellectual property in research and development.

  3. To master the skills for writing invention disclosure
