Course content
Today, modern society is called an information society. In the information society, our daily activities related to "information" are significantly increasing while the roles, importance, and economic value are growing. As a result, social information and communication issues are becoming a more significant part of regional strategies and town planning.
Based on this recognition, the main objective of this class is to understand the relationships between regional development and regional policy and "information" from various perspectives through some examples.
Classes are done in seminar format, but we also plan fieldwork.
As this course is discussion-based, participation and contribution to the class are mandatory. Silence is not golden in the classes.

Evaluation method and criteria
As all students are expected to contribute to this seminar, they should attend all classes.
Reports (up to 3) are evaluated.
Evaluation: understanding -- 80%, comprehensive --100%
Students must earn at least 60 points out of 100 to pass the course.
Students can score 60 points or more when they can state their opinions about topics discussed in class in assignments, discussions, and reports.
