Course content
Study characteristic of human and equipments that are used to support elderly or disabled person, through lecture and practice. Graduates of bio-science and engineering department need not take the course as duplicative lectures have already been done to them.
Purpose of class
The needs to develop and design equipments and interfaces that corresponds to the elderly and people with disabilities are increasing, as we facing anaged society. The objctive of this class is to learn characteristics of the elderly and the handicapped necessary for the developments, and the specific examples of the equipments and the interface for them.
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand fundamental characteristic of bio-mechanics of human body and sense of sight and hearing.
  2. Understand how to apply appropriate welfare equipments to persons who have various characteristics.
  3. Understand kinds of various welfare equipments and how to use them.
