1 Science of Concrete Material
This class will provide an overview of reinforcing steel and reinforced concrete, both of which are widely used as construction
materials all over the world. The types of cement, the material of concrete, its hydration reaction, its mechanical properties
with reinforcing steel, as well as deterioration as typified by durability will be outlined. In order to make it as easy to
understand as possible, laboratory specimens and other materials will be viewed to enhance understanding.
In addition, the students will research and present the differences between their own country and Japan to grasp the differences
and characteristics of each country as well.
Understanding the concrete materials and chemical component including for cement hydration.
There are including fresh concrete, hardened concrete and construction.
- Student should be able to understand the concrete materials.
- Student should be able to understand cement hydration
- Student should be able to understand the concrete properties such as strength and durability
