1 Environmental Design/ Exercise 1
The aim of this course is to have students understand the underlying ideology and principles of modern urban environmental
design (architecture, cities, nature). Students will participate in the practical side of urban environmental design through
involvement in specific projects, and will acquire an understanding of this process.
Research themes include architectural design and town planning, vitalization of the city center, architectural format and
the urban area, arrangement of the residential area, urban dwellings, and the cityscape. Students will determine their respective
themes within the scope of the aforementioned areas, and will research issues while planning three-dimensional urban design.
- Students understand and explain the process and trend of environmental design, which mainly include urban design, architecture,
landscape architecture.
- Students understand the current conditions and problems regarding to city, region and their environment, and gain basic ability
to solve them.
- Students have wide range of knowledge to understand and solve urban environmental problems, and can contribute to improve
societies.
Seminars will be done regularly, basically once a week.
Evaluation method and criteria
Students will be evaluated based on progress of research.
