Advanced Materials/Exercise1

ISHIZAKI Takahiro
Course content
Advanced materials can create novel functionalities. Functionalities of the advanced materials strongly depend on the electronic states, forms, and structures of the materials. They would be estimated and revealed using advanced analytical instruments, such as TEM, SEM, XPS, SPM, FT-IR, NMR, and so on. In this course, researches on advanced materials in the various areas from the fundamental researches to applications will be performed through the cooperation of the faculty members with advising students. For example, functional carbon materials using amorphous carbon, carbon nanotube, graphene, functional biomimetic materials using self-organization, and battery materials using secondary lithium-ion batteries, secondary magnesium-ion batteries, metal-air batteries are included. The examples of the research themes are as follows:
"Research on carbon materials"
"Research on biomimetic materials"
"Research on surface function and its formation mechanism, and surface formation"
"Research on battery materials"
"Research on new advanced functional materials"
"Research on elucidation of fundamental rule for created functionalities"
"Research on development of material synthesis processing for functional materials"
