Course content
Brain function measurement technology works as a system combining engineering that detects electrical signals and blood flow signals associated with neural activity and psychological methods that quantify the cognitive functions such as attention and awareness. This brain function measurement is a powerful tool to approach the human mind mechanism, and is expected to contribute not only to neuroscience, but to a wide range of fields such as cognitive science, education, and the economy. In this course, we comprehensively investigate and understand knowledge in a wide range of fields from measurement and analysis techniques of biosignals to cerebral physiology and psychology.
Goals and objectives
  1. Be able to investigate previous research and set research topics logically
  2. Be able to build appropriate experimental designs and research plans to achieve research goals
  3. Be able to conduct research as planed, and report the results at an appropriate timing

Class schedule
・Explore and determine the research theme through literature survey and discussion.
・Make experimental design and set up research plans. Make presentations at progress report meetings.
・ After the approval of the ethics committee, proceed with the research according to the plan. Make a presentation at the progress report meeting.
Evaluation method and criteria
Based on the degree of achievement of the thesis, including the results of the progress report meeting and the conference presentation, the evaluation will be based on the presentation at the final review board.
