Practice on Design Project 3

HIRAO Akinari
Course description
In this exercise, we will focus on chairs and seats, which are tools for sitting, and evaluate the performance of several types of chairs from multiple perspectives, including psychological, physical, and physiological, using ergonomic methods and measuring instruments for sitting, which we do without thinking in our daily lives. For each item, the basic methodology will first be explained and then the actual evaluation will be conducted. Each group is responsible for one chair or seat and performs all evaluations. At the same time, they will also be the subjects of evaluations by other groups. In this way, the participants experience and learn the concept of ergonomic evaluation of products, evaluation methods and data analysis.
