Course description
Knowledge of strength of materials and mechanical modeling of structures are required when designing mechanical structures and investigating the causes of accidents. In order to develop such abilities, it is necessary to carry out various exercises in strength of materials.
In this class, we will solve exercises related to strength of materials in the first half to deepen our theoretical understanding. In the latter half, each faculty member will be divided into multiple groups to carry out creative experimental exercises to develop problem-solving ability and shipping ability.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this lecture is to be able to solve problems of strength of materials and to develop problem-solving ability for events that occur in actual mechanical structures.
Goals and objectives
  1. To calculate displacements of structures members which is receiving loads.
  2. To calculate stresses in structure members which is receiving loads.
  3. To comprehensively understand the strength and stiffness of mechanical structures, and to create structures with new functions.
Language
Japanese
