Medical Chemical Engineering
1. to develop sensors to rapidly measure the concentration of various drugs in blood or food using molecularly imprinted polymer
fixed electrodes originally developed by our laboratory.
2. to elucidate the mechanism of molecular recognition by the above sensor and find clues to further improve its performance.
3. to develop nanoparticles of molecularly imprinted polymers.
3. to develop an imaging technique using nanoparticles of molecularly imprinted polymers to observe patterns of transmitter
secretion in the brain in real time.
4. to develop design methods to enhance the performance of the above nanoparticles.
Core hours in our laboratory are from 10:00 to 17:00. The student will not be bound to the laboratory but will be expected
to engage in research. Grades will be based on research results rather than research hours. (One conference presentation is
required.)
