Required grades or points of Eiken, TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS (see the requirements below) can be recognized as units after taking an interview at the instructor’s office.

  1. Students can set their goals and achieve required scores by self study.
  2. Students can communicate with others and make arrangements by emails in English.
  3. Students can respond to a 20-minute interview in English and explain the reasons for taking the tests, studies and other details about themselves.

If you wish to register for this course:

1. Contact Gakusei-ka office during the registration (by form submission) week (see the Gakusei-ka’s notice) .
(1) Submit an Eiken, TOEFL, or TOEIC score certificate to the office. (TOEFL ITP and TOEIC IP are excluded from credit recognition towards the course.)
(2) Submit an application form for the course to the office.
(3) Gakusei-ka office will make a registration for you, and you must check it via S*gsot during the registration/correction period.

2.
(1) After that, send an email in English to the instructor of the course to make an appointment for an interview.
(2) Take the interview.

The interview decides your final grade for the course.

If you have not yet taken ‘Recognition of Official Test Score in English 1’, but met the requirement of ‘Recognition of Official Test Score in English 2’, you are eligible for registering for both 1 and 2 and can obtain the units of both at the same time. In that case, only one interview would be enough.

You will get 80 points if you have obtained required grades or points of Eiken, TOEFL, or TOEIC.
