Course description
The class of "Workshop of System-thinking" is an project based learning class positioned as the first step of the system engineering & science education. The class is a group work of about 20 students, who understands the theme given by the teacher and creates "something" with attendance intellectual curiosity. The theme of the class is cross-disciplinary and covers all phenomena and problems in the global society. In some themes, students will work with external organizations such as company to solve problems.
Purpose of class
This class develops abilities of “system thinking” to propose comprehensive solutions, “system methods” to create the function of achieving the problems, and "system management" to integrate people, knowledge and technology. The purpose of the class is developing these abilities which are needed for solving the problems in global society through the active learning (project-based learning).

Evaluation method and criteria
The lecturer in charge of each group evaluates the daily activities, the results of the interim and final presentations, and the contribution for the group activities (attendance is important for group activities). If necessary, peer/mutual evaluation between students will be included in the evaluation.
