Course description
高校で学んだ化学の知識をより深め、大学での専門分野における化学を理解するための橋渡しとして、原子・分子の概念から化学変化やそれらの量的関係を計算できるようにする。どの分野においても必要不可欠な化学の基礎事項を取り上げる。
Purpose of class
化学の基礎として、原子の成り立ちや化学結合、物質の性質、化学変化などについての基本的概念を習得する。
Goals and objectives
  1. 物質を単体と化合物に、さらに化合物をイオン化合物と分子に分類できる。化学式、化学反応式が書け、化学変化とその量的関係が計算できる。
  2. 原子の化学的性質は電子配置によることを理解する。化学結合と電子軌道との関係が説明できる。
  3. 分子間に働く力と電気陰性度の関係が理解できる。物質の状態変化の説明および気体の法則を用いた計算ができる。
  4. 溶解度と濃度の計算ができ、溶液の性質が説明できる。
  5. 酸と塩基について理解し、酸化還元反応を説明できる。

Evaluation method and criteria
授業中に行う小テスト（20％）、中間試験（40％）、期末試験（40％）で評価する。総合点の60%以上を合格とする。総合点の60%は授業内に実施する小テストについて理解し、説明および計算ができるレベルである。さらに教科書や配布資料の内容について理解できるようになれば、70-80%の得点が得られるように、試験問題を作製する予定である。
