Course content
We are now facing with serious water crisis in 21st century. Thus it is an urgent task for us to build a more balanced and sustainable society and also reserve the limited water resource. In this course, modern water treatment technologies and the therotical basis will be introduced. The course contents are mainly consist of three parts: 1. general introduction on water treatment technologies, 2. parameters that evaluate water quality and their measurement methodology, 3. the ecological function of environmental microorganisms and their applications in water treatment technologies.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this class is to understanding basic theory of biological water treatment technologies.
Goals and objectives
  1. understanding the current water treatment technologies
  2. understanding environmental parameters that decribe water quality and their methodologies
  3. understanding microbial functions in aquatic environments
