Course content
The goals of this class are to understand "Urban Environmental" to ensure people live and work in a safe, comfortable, efficient, and healthy environmental space in terms of Urban Environmental System Planning.

Classes are conducted mainly by discussion through case studies and reading related materials. The subject of the discussion and teaching materials are decided from latest journal papers and actual cases, according to the situation of the participant's majors and interests.

By actively participating in the class, students will deepen learning from various perspectives by having discussions on the latest topics related to the urban environment.
Purpose of class
This course introduces the way to plan and develop "Urban Environmental System" in building environmental engineering and building equipment engineering field in terms of sustainability and resilience. The purpose of this class is to share issues and perspectives by deepening discussions among participants on the subject presented each class. We also plan to have a special lecturer from outside. Special lecturers will participate several times. If conditions permit, facility tours and field surveys will be conducted.

Japanese students are very welcome to attend this class regardless of the level of English proficiency.
Goals and objectives
  1. At the end of the course, participants are expected to explain the essential concepts, issues and perspectives of sustainable and resilient urban environmental systems.
  2. At the end of the course, participants are expected to describe the role and occupational, professional ability as environmental system planners, engineers, designers, to promote sustainable and resilient buildings, cities.
  3. At the end of the course, participants are expected to understand essential point of latest related papers and actual cases.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge(undergraduate level) of building environmental engineering and building equipment engineering is a prerequisite for this course.

Applicable Taking advantage of experience engaged in Urban Redevelopment projects and R & D project of building equipment system (including patent application) and business management of construction company, we teach concepts required for the promotion of environmental city and the development of environmental building.With the cooperation of companies, municipalities and research institutes and other institutions, practical experience personnel will carry out practical education.
