1 Bioelectronics/ Exercise 1
From an engineering perspective, the functions possessed by living organisms are treasure-troves for ideas and their applications
are appealing. For example, as seen from the field of electronics, information processing and the neural transmission mechanism
of the brain, information reception and the transmission mechanism of biomembranes, and energy transformation mechanism of
living organisms, among other excellent biological functions are surmised to hold the key to new developments in electronics
technology. By utilizing or imitating these superior functions possessed by organisms, high performance biodevices or systems
can be developed. Such a research field is referred to as bioelectronics. Major research themes include the following:
1) development of microbiosensors utilizing semiconductor technology; 2) development of surface plasmon resonance biosensor
chip; 3) development of genetic chip; 4) development of biological fuel cell; 5) creation of new functional conductive polymer.
- Comprehension of Bioelectrohics
- Comprehension of Biosensors
- Comprehension of Bionanotechnology
