Computer Architecture and LSI Design / Exercise 1

USAMI Kimiyoshi
Course content
Students explore computer configuration methods from the perspective of operating speed and power consumption (energy consumption), and study energy-efficient computing technology and LSI design and implementation techniques that realize it.
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand the relationship between computer performance (speed) and power consumption.
  2. Understand the mechanism of power/energy consumption in LSIs and existing technologies to reduce power/energy consumption.
  3. Study a new LSI design technology that realizes energy-efficient chips.
Language
Japanese
Class schedule
Students learn computer configuration methods from the perspective of operating speed and power consumption (energy consumption), and study energy-efficient computing technology and LSI design and implementation technology that realizes it.
Evaluation method and criteria
Have the students report on the assigned questions, and evaluate them based on the results. Presentations at academic conferences will also be included in the evaluation. The evaluation will be based on 80% of the report assignments and 20% of the presentations at academic conferences. An overall score of 60% or higher is considered passing.
