Advanced Materials for Energy and Related Areas Exercise 1

NISHIKAWA Hiroyuki
Course content
The development of electrical engineering supporting today’s sophisticated technology and information society owes much to the rapid advances in modern electrical, electronic, and optical materials. While focus of research will be placed on electrical and electronic properties mainly of dielectric and insulating materials, study will not be limited to electrical equipment. Research will be conducted in a wide range of materials used in the energy field and information transmission field among others, and new applications for electrical equipment engineering will be considered. Specifically, research will be conducted relating to high dielectric thin films, optical waveguide materials, and luminescent silicon, among others.
Goals and objectives
  1. To demonstrate the ability to collect and explain information and technological trends in the research area of energy materials.
  2. To demonstrate the ability to setup proper issues on the research area of and to discuss on them with others.
  3. To demonstrate the ability to aquire skills themselves to solve their own technical issues.
  4. To demonstrate the ability to make clear presentations using proper words and languages at technical societies and journals.
