Data Engineering / Exercise 1

This course deals with the following themes. Students are required to read the related papers.
・Mechanism to realize data mining analyses
・Data mining technique
・Text mining technique
・Application mining techniques to data related to safety
・Fundamental and application techniques of ontology data

Students are also required to make a study in the related study area and make a
presentation at Domestic/International conference.

1. Learn how to find a problem in data engineering.
2. Study the methodology to solve the problem.
3. Learn how to implement a program to evaluate the method.

Students should read journal papers and propose a new method related to
・Mechanism to realize data mining analyses
・Data mining technique
・Text mining technique
・Application mining techniques to data related to safety
・Fundamental and application techniques of ontology data

・Weekly reports and discussion（90%）
・Presentation at a international conference (5%)
・Submit an original paper to a journal (5%)

Students should have knowledge of discrete mathematics, programming, data structure/algorithms, and databases.
