Bionic Communication Engineering/ Exercise 1

HORIE Ryota
Course content
In this course, students learn measuring biological signals, analyses and evaluation of biological signals by signal processing, information processing, and statistical processing, integration among biological signals, sensors, control systems, and communication systems. The topics are required for development of biomedical systems such as brain-computer interfaces.
Goals and objectives
  1. Can measure biological signals such as brain waves
  2. Can analyze and evaluate biological signals such as brain waves by signal processing, information processing and statistical processing
  3. Can develop systems such as interfaces by integration of biological signals such as brain waves and measurement, control, and communication systems
Language
Japanese(English accepted)
Class schedule
Focusing on development of brain-computer interface as an example of system, learn methods of measuring brain waves, analyzing and evaluating the brain waves by signal, information and statistical processing. Learn integration of the brain wave and measurement, control, and communication systems through system creation.
Evaluation method and criteria
Reports and presentations will be evaluated.
60% of evaluation requires understanding basics of elementary technologies and their integration required for system development of bionic systems.
