1 Molecular Assemblies for Crystal Engineering/ Exercise 1
Based on crystallography, students synthesize new molecular crystals based on electrostatic interactions. By using synthesized
crystals, adsorption and encapsulation phenomena of small molecules are clarified.
1. To be able to design and prepare the fluorine-substituted organic ligands.
2. To be able to synthesize new metal complexes from fluorine-substituted organic ligands and metal ions.
3. To be able to prepare the single-crystals of metal complexes and to analysis the structure from various methods.
4. To be able to investigate the dynamic behavior of the crystals.

Japanese(English accepted)
The fundamentals of crystallography and the methodology of creating new molecular crystals by organic and inorganic compounds
will be performed.
Evaluation method and criteria
Grading will be decided based on the participate in the experiment, the experiment situation, and the summary of the experiment
