1 Advanced Science and Innovative Engineering/Exercise1
This is project-based course. During the course you will choose a topic of your interest and perform various experiments to
achieve scientific or engineering goals of the research project. In this class you will get hands-on experience on various
materials characterization techniques and develop a sense of curiosity leading to new knowledge. The research results must
be reported regularly to the teacher and laboratory notes must be written carefully. Depending on experimental outcomes the
objective of the research may be redesign. In case your project requires usage of dangerous and hazardous materials students
will be obligated to handle them according to the university regulations.
- The students will acquire practical training in the field of their study.
- The students will develop independent project solving skills.
- The students will be able to correctly document experiments and understand meaning of research ethics.
- The students will be able to understand technological developments in the project's field of study.
- The students will acquire English literacy in the field of their study.
In the first weeks, the students will propose a scientific topic for their study based on the list given by the teacher.
The goals and the plan of the project will be defined.
In the following weeks the students will design and perform various experiments. He/ she will learn how to report and interpret
experimental data. In the final weeks the students will learn how to write final reports and prepare presentations.
Evaluation method and criteria
The students will be evaluated based on their research progress, quality of experiments, research ethics and English literacy
in the field of their study.
