Manufacturing Technology

HAYABUSA Keisuke
Course description
The purpose of this course is to learn the basics of processing technology necessary for manufacturing, and outline various processing methods used for familiar industrial products, and describe their characteristics and manufacturing processes. This knowledge is extremely important for designing the functions, performance, and structure of products. In addition to selecting appropriate processing methods according to the products, students will also learn about design that makes the best use of the characteristics of each processing method.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this course is to learn the followings:
・ To understand the mechanism of industrial products, manufacturing technology and its material technology.
・ To understand how to make industrial products.
・ To develop the ability and creativity to apply to manufacturing by using the knowledge learned in related basic subjects.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understand the features and manufacturing processes of various manufacturing technologies (casting, plastic molding, welding / joining, rolling, plastic working, cutting, grinding / polishing, additive manufacturing).
  2. To select the appropriate processing method according to each product, so that you can propose designs that take advantage of the characteristics of each processing method.
  3. To understand the basics of a series of related technologies (design, processing, production, evaluation / measurement, etc.) necessary for manufacturing.
