Many familiar substances and materials are solids. In order to understand basic solid properties, it is necessary to know
that the structure, stability, and electronic characteristics of the material with individual atomic and moleculer arrangements.
In this class, we will focus on the understanding of molecular arrangements with symmetric operations in crystals, for engineers.
As a preliminary step in handling crystals and materials in specialized subjects, we will learn with the aim of learning the
basic structure of chemistry and the array structure and properties of solid materials in our surroundings from a chemical
point of view.
Understand how the constituent particles of solid such as atoms and molecules are arranged in the crystal based on the chemical
interactions. Basic information of crystal unit structures of solid and the corresponding microscopic viewpoint will be treated.

Your final grade will be calculated according to the following process: Quizzes (30%), Group works (20%), and Examinations
(50%). To pass, students must earn at least 60 points out of 100.
You will reach approximately 60% if you participate in group work and can solve the basic quizzes and the corresponding new examinations of the same level and will reach 80% or more to solve the related application examinations.
