Course description
Mechanical engineering can be an available technology by combining it with electrical engineering, while it is used for making the machines for various applications including manufacturing, measurement or transportation. The mechanical engineers are required to understand and use the operation principles of the in-situ electrical instruments, having electrical knowledge sufficient to discuss with electrical engineers. This coursework provides basic knowledge on electrical engineering and typical electrical instruments.
Purpose of class
The purposes of this coursework is to understand the features of the instruments comprising DC, AC circuits and various electronic devices, and acquire the knowledge for operating machines efficiently by introducing electrical engineering to mechanical engineering.
Goals and objectives
  1. To have concept on voltage, electrical current and resistance and understand definitely Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's law.
  2. To acquire concept on impedance and understand the phase difference caused in voltage, current and impedance.
  3. To understand the characteristics of electrical and magnetic materials on atomic level.
  4. To understand operation principles of various electrical devices and instruments.
