Structural Mechanics and Dynamics

KAMEO Yoshitaka
Course description
This course covers engineering mechanics. Engineering mechanics is normally divided into two basic areas: statics and dynamics. Here students will study the dynamics, which deals with the motion of bodies.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this course is to let students understand the basic concepts of engineering mechanics and the related mathematical methods.
Goals and objectives
  1. To be able to derive and solve the equations of motion.
  2. To be able to formulate conservation laws of momentum, angular momentum, and energy.
  3. To understand the motions of point particles and rigid bodies
To be able to apply the laws of dynamics to point particles and rigid bodies to describe the motions of them.
