Design Exercise on Electronic Circuits

SAITOH Atsushi
Course description
Circuit simulation technology is an important technology that contributes to shortening the development period and reducing costs, and has become an essential technology in circuit development. Furthermore, simulation technology is important in fields other than circuit development. Through this lecture, we aim to have you learn about the importance of simulation and what you need to be careful about in order to run an effective and correct simulation.
Purpose of class
This course is an exercise to further understanding of the basics of electrical circuits, circuit transient phenomena, and electronic circuits.
In this exercise, we will explain circuit simulation technology, which is one of the skills that future circuit engineers should acquire. And we will use this technology to confirm the operation of circuits and deepen our understanding of electrical and electronic circuit technology.
Furthermore, in this exercise, you will design a basic circuit that meets the specifications yourself, and check the operation of the designed circuit through simulation. Through those, we aim to turn what we have learned so far regarding circuit technology into usable knowledge.
Goals and objectives
  1. To be able to select appropriate simulation methods by learning basic circuit simulation techniques.
  2. To be able to understand the difference between theoretical and practical behavior in electrical and electronic circuit by using circuit simulation technique
  3. To be able to design practical circuits

Evaluation method and criteria
Students will be evaluated using a report on each practice assignment (8 items), a quiz (submitted as a report, twice), and a final exam.

Evaluation:
Each exercise: 20%
Quiz(Report): 50%
Final exam: 30%

Total score of 60 or above is considered a passing score.

Specifically, you must satisfy the following to pass (60 points).

・Be able to explain circuits theoretically.
・You can choose an appropriate circuit simulation to demonstrate the operation of each circuit.

Furthermore, if you can do an appropriate design, you can score 80 points or more.
