Course description
Electromagnetism covers the field of electricity and magnetism. In Electromagnetism 2, magnetic forces acting on a lead wire in which electric currents flow, or magnetic field produced by electric currents are studied. Electromagnetic induction, that is, electromotive force produced by time-varying magnetic field is also studied. Maxwell equations are derived and electromagnetic waves are studied.
Purpose of class
Phenomena related with magnetic field are studied.
Goals and objectives
  1. will derive magnetic forces acting on a lead wire in which electric currents flow.
  2. will derive magnetic forces acting on a lead wire in which electric currents flow.
  3. will derive induced electromotive forces and induced currents.
  4. will derive inductance of coils from electromotive forces.
  5. will describe Maxwell equations and derive wave equations.
