Course description

As an engineer involved in electronics, you will learn that there are always positive and negative aspects to the technology realized by electronics, and that there are many problems within the scope of your responsibility that cannot be solved by electronics technology alone.

Purpose of class

You are expected to acquire the ability to make ethical decisions regarding the use of technology as it relates to electronics through an understanding of technology and human nature.

You are able to understand the great responsibility that electronics engineers have in today's society.
You are able to understand the "values" that are important to an electronics engineer when making a decision.
You are able to make appropriate ethical decisions based on the "values".

Evaluation method and criteria

-Evaluation method:
Small tests, etc. will be given during class.
You must score at least 60 points or higher out of 100 to pass on small tests, etc.
If the attendance rate is less than two-thirds, no credit will be granted.

-Criteria:
If you able to answer the in-class examples and exercises without any references, you will get 80 points out of 100.
