Course description
The course aims to develop the students’ reading and writing skills. Students will develop their ability to read relatively complex texts both accurately and smoothly. By reading passages of a variety of content, they will enhance their ability to read both for gist and specific details without relying on translation into Japanese. They will also use the passages to improve their usage of grammar and build up their vocabulary. They will be expected to respond to what they have read with discussions and writing tasks.

Prerequisites
Students intending to take this course (1) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above, and (2) are recommended to have a TOEIC/ TOEIC-IP test score of about 500 or above.
