Course description
In the class, students will select one of the mechanical engineering projects related to the lecturer’s specific field. The project teams consist of a small number of members and teamwork is essential to overcome the project.
Students must register on the first day of the class. Late registration will be rejected.
The day and period depend on the theme (most of the themes will be held on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon

For reference, the projects as of one year before are described in this syllabus.
Purpose of class
This course is one part of the creative class in the mechanical engineering department having Project-based Learning (PBL) style. Project Based Learning (PBL) is an effective teaching method in which students gain engineering knowledge and skills. Students have to challenge their project within the limited time and budget. The aim of this course is the students have to derive concept, idea, solution, and management for the project. Teamwork and presentation are also very important issues.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students will be able to understand the background of the theme, select the problems to solve and decide the specifications based on the design objective.
  2. Students will be able to imagine the design policies for solving the problems.
  3. Students will be able to solve the problems by utilizing theoretical and technical informations effectively.
  4. Students will be able to draft and execute a work plan.
  5. Students will be able to perform a work in cooperation with the group members.
  6. Students will be able to understand questions definitely and answer them precisely.
