Course description
This course aims to understand the communications engineering more deeply, and to improve the achievement level of knowledge to the specialized subjects necessary for the information and communications engineering. To realize these aims, students are assigned to the faculty members’ laboratories, and study to obtain deeper knowledge about each faculty member’s specialized field from base to the application. This course also aims at the preparation for the graduation thesis. In addition, not only charge faculty member's specialty but also the wide knowledge about communications engineering can be acquired.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this course is to further deepen the understanding of information and communication engineering, and to raise the level of achievement in the specialized knowledges required for information and communication engineering.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students can acquire deeper knowledge and the skill about each laboratory and charge faculty member’s specialized field (from the base to the application).
  2. Students can acquire the wide knowledge about information and communication engineering.
  3. Students can acquire the necessary basic knowledge about the graduation research and thesis.

Evaluation method and criteria
-Grade is judged by the contents of presentations and reports (50%), by the depth of understanding through the discussions and Q&A (50%). Some faculty members may use another evaluation method and criteria.
-Passing standard is over 60%.
-The minimum score of 60% can be obtained if the student has reached the level to be able to solve 60% of the projects assigned by the lecturer.

Prof. Koichi GYODA: Emergency wireless communications network construction technologies, Ad hoc networking for remote controlled rescue robots, inter-vehicle communications, etc., Information and communication technologies required at the disasters. 6. Assoc. Prof. Atsushi SAITO: Development of Sensor (especially chemical Sensors),Sensor data processing, Sensor data fusion. Complete the assignment given by each lecturer 90minutes
7. Asst. Prof. Norisato SUGA: Physical layer technique and signal processing for wireless communication, Radio propagation, Optimization and machine learning. Complete the assignment given by each lecturer 90minutes
8. Prof. Shinichi TANAKA: High frequency devices and circuits, Microwave circuit design using techniques using CAD technologies, Introduction to current topics in microwave passive and active components. Complete the assignment given by each lecturer 90minutes
