Acquire knowledge and experience in the essential tasks of an engineer, such as perform experiments, conducting research, and summarizing and reporting the results over a defined period of time.

Evaluation method and criteria

"Planning" and "Study" will be evaluated based on progress at the laboratory meeting. For "Thesis and oral presentations", the results will be evaluated according to the course rubric.

Research Content

In the Materials design engineering laboratory, students will conduct their research on improving various properties of lightweight metallic materials by controlling the microstructure or developing novel crystalline materials as energy materials.
