3 Graduation Thesis 1
The course will be conducted at a level appropriate to the 1/4 stage of Graduation Thesis. You will study a specific topic
for your sake under the guidance of a professor at an assigned laboratory of Dept. Electronic Engineering in SIT (taking your
wish into consideration). Based on your knowledge (what you have learned so far), this course deals with the basis of research
and development through discussion on your ways, methods, results of a specific topic by means of your laboratory and Dept.
presentations. Depending on the situation, you may study abroad as part of this class.

Evaluation method and criteria
Your works and your presentation on your works are requested to be evaluated by your guiding professor. You must score at
least 60 points or higher out of 100 to pass from the points of view as follows:
-You can understand the integrity with which others' ideas and information can be legitimately cited and your own efforts
to address issues. You can understand the research background and systematically carry out part of a research flow. (50%).
-You can present your works along the guidelines. (25%). You can answer questions on your works and results (25%).

Research on tourism information and research on educational support will be conducted.
If you research tourism information, you will investigate effective promotion methods on SNS by conducting comparative experiments
on still images and videos of Japanese traditional dishes and buildings. Regarding educational support, you will aim to develop
an effective learning support system using VR and gamification. For the elderly help, you will examine the contents of the
training program to activate the elderly brain functions, in addition to the versual travel for the elderly. In these studies,
you will also conduct experiments to measure biological information: measurement of cerebral blood flow using NIRS (Near Infrared
Spectroscopy), measurement of the line of sight, measurement of heart rate, etc.
The research themes are as follows:
・Research on tourism promotion by neuro-tourism (using a brain science approach for tourism marketing) approach
・Research on system development in the tourism field
・Research on effective learning methods using VR in English education
・Research on virtual travel for the elderly
・Research on a training program for the elderly to activate brain functions
