Graduation Thesis 4

HASHIMURA Shinji
Course description
In Graduation Thesis 4, students will continue to work on research themes related to mechanical engineering based on the activities in Graduation Thesis 3. This will improve practical problem-solving skills, techniques for writing research papers, and communication skills for carrying out research activities and accurately communicating research results.
Graduation Thesis 4 is the final stage of the research activities developed since Graduation Thesis 1. During this stage, students are expected to attain a high level of proficiency in problem formulation, conceptualization, problem-solving, planning, self-directed learning, communication, and teamwork skills. The goal of Graduation Thesis 4 is to summarize the results of these activities in a graduation thesis, and the degree of achievement will be evaluated in conjunction with a final review of the oral presentation.
Purpose of class
The objective of this course is to enable students to independently examine solutions to unfamiliar problems using their expertise and effectively communicate the results of their investigations through written papers and oral presentations.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students can communicate their opinion and explanation of the research result etc. Also, they can understand other person's comments or questions, and discuss with professors and other students.
  2. Student can work cooperatively with others in the process of problem solving.
  3. Students can understand the background of the problem, clarify the research purpose and focus the research subjects.
  4. Students can utilize their expert knowledge, combine the appropriate experiments and analytical methods, and propose how to solve the problem.
  5. Students can examine solutions to problems by improving experimental methods, equipment, and programs, and by analyzing the results of experiments and analyses.
  6. Students can manage their research plan and perform by the deadline.
Students acquire the skill for the topics and how to survey the information or the knowledge by using the Internet, etc.. Students have to learn continuously and autonomously.
