Course description
In Electric Circuit 1B, the following concepts from Electric Circuit 1A are further mastered based on the foundational skills and knowledge learned:
(1) Deepening the understanding of basic laws and theorems of alternating-current circuits and their applications.
(2) Understanding the characteristics of electric power in alternating-current circuits, resonant circuits, and bridged circuits, and their applications.
(3) Gaining the ability to grasp the features of direct current circuits and alternating current networks independently, and mastering the modes of analysis.
Purpose of class
The study of electrical circuits is one of the fundamental subjects for students of electrical engineering. Electric Circuit 1 is an introductory course in this field. It aims to provide an understanding of important laws, theorems, and formulas related to electrical circuits from the basics of electrical phenomena and to apply this knowledge to fundamental problems.
Goals and objectives
  1. The understanding of basic laws and theorems of alternating-current circuits is deepened, and this knowledge is applied to basic problems.
  2. Able to solve basic problems of electric power in alternating-current circuits, resonant circuits, and bridged circuits.
  3. Able to explain the features of direct current circuits and alternating current networks independently, and mastering the modes of analysis.

Evaluation method and criteria
Score is evaluated by Mini Quiz (30%), Exercise (20%), and Final Exam (50%). To pass, students are requested to earn 60 points out of 100 points. Total 60% is the border of the credit. 60 point is defined as minimum knowledge and skills corresponding to the Goals and objectives.
