Fundamentals of Physical Chemistry

LEE SO YOON
Course description
The course is divided in two parts.
The first part is related to knowledge and understanding of the concepts and fundamentals of thermodynamics applied to chemical systems, the concept of energy associated with chemical reactions, and phase transformations (with introduction to phase diagrams).
The second part is related to the evolution of the chemical and physical phenomena in function of time; both theoretical and practical concepts of diffusion, dissolution, crystallization; theoretical concepts of reaction kinetics also depending on the temperature.
Purpose of class
The aim of this course is to help students acquire an understanding of the principles of physical chemistry on the academic level.
