Course title
Course description
Physics forms the basis of all kinds of sciences and fields of engineering as a basic understanding of the basic laws of physics is necessary to participate in the society. This course is meant for those who did not study physics in the high school and for those who lack confidence. The course will focus on the intuitive understanding of concepts of physics that include motion of terrestrial and astronomical objects, perceived phenomena of heat, light and sound through practical examples and simulations using Matlab software.
Purpose of class
The course would help develop intuitive understanding of the physics concepts with minimum introduction of mathematics. By the end of the course, students should be able to develop the required fundamentals in describing objects in motion from the macro level to microlevel, the concept of wave phenomena, describe motion of sound and light. They would venture into describing physics behind different things surrounding them from a simple chair to the complex smart phone and make presentations on different things used in everyday life.
