Since the United Nations General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have drawn attention from numerous business organizations. While governments are the primary actors in driving the SDGs, businesses play a crucial role as stakeholders in contributing to their achievement. This course explores how businesses can contribute to the SDGs and operate within the context of global crises, including climate change, water and food scarcity, poverty, conflict, and inequality. It emphasizes corporate governance and its implications for addressing societal and environmental challenges.

Purpose of class

Students will explore the diverse landscape of global challenges within the framework of the 2030 Agenda, recognizing the pivotal role of the private sector in advancing sustainability initiatives. By analyzing case studies and emerging trends, students will gain insights into practical strategies that foster progress towards the SDGs.
