Course description
Exchange classes with an overseas school (scheduled for Sapienza, University of Rome, Italy. The University of Rome) will be used to provide intensive practical training in architecture in English. Students will experience design, observation, and multi-species lectures in English to promote understanding of architecture in a foreign language. Students will analyze the city historically, understand the spaces of major buildings, visit design firms, and develop new design (design and structural) guidelines. Students will be required to pass an English conversation test, and only those who pass will be eligible to take the course. Japanese students (approximately 10) will join the University of Rome to work on design assignments. Through design, observation, and multiple lectures, the course will promote an understanding of international architecture. The theme of disaster and architecture between Japan and Italy, two countries with different backgrounds but with the commonality of being earthquake-prone countries, will be taken up to develop new design skills.
A is for receiving and B is for sending.
